Science
Our latest science was we did milk experiment. We put low fat milk in a bowl and then we put splotches of dye around the edge. When we put detergent in the centre the dye rushes to the centre and spreads across the bowl. We next tried with different types of milk and the only type that didn't work was full cream. The reason it happens is the fat in the milk goes crazy and 'dances' around the bowl to where the detergent is. The dye goes crazy until it burns all the fat of the milk and spreads around the bowl.
Today at science we tested different ways of sucking the moisture out of a can by boiling water in a can and dunking it in a bowl of icy water. What happened was the air got sucked out of the can and made a little bang. The can instantly crushed like a massive vacuum.
Today we tested different ways of sucking air out of the can. My group tried putting boiling water into a bowl and then icy cold water into a can. We thought that it would blow up bat sadly all it did was expand. We also boiled the water our self with mentholated spirits. We used a mini tripod and put a mini metal grill in and put the bowl on top to boil it. The reason it crunched up with was the cold vacuumed the heat of the steam and collected the steam so fast that the can instantly crushed.
